Elon Musk Launches “Party of America” After Clash with Trump Over Tax Bill
The Tesla CEO announces formation of a new political party aimed at "restoring freedom," following a public rift with Trump over federal subsidies and tax reform.
Watan-American billionaire Elon Musk announced on Saturday the formation of the “Party of America,” just one day after asking his followers on the social platform X whether a new political party should be founded in the United States.
In a post on X, Musk declared:“By a margin of two to one, you want a new political party — and you’ll get one!”
“Today, the Party of America has been established to restore your freedom.”
The announcement came just a day after President Donald Trump signed a tax reduction bill — legislation that Musk strongly opposed.
Musk, CEO of Tesla, has spent hundreds of millions supporting Trump’s re-election in the past and once led the Government Efficiency Initiative, which aimed to cut federal spending. However, their relationship has recently soured due to the tax legislation.
Independence Day is the perfect time to ask if you want independence from the two-party (some would say uniparty) system!
Should we create the America Party?

Last week, Trump threatened to cut billions of dollars in federal subsidies received by Musk’s companies.
Musk had previously hinted at creating a new political party and pledged to spend significant funds to unseat lawmakers who supported the bill.
Many Republicans have expressed concern that Musk’s escalating feud with Trump could jeopardize their chances of maintaining control in the upcoming midterm Congressional elections.
