Trump Confirms Upcoming U.S.-Iran Talks Following Israel War
Speaking at the NATO summit, Trump hints at possible agreement but downplays interest in renewed negotiations, declaring Iran's nuclear program "destroyed."
Watan-U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that American and Iranian officials will hold discussions next week, marking a resumption of dialogue that was interrupted by the recent war between Israel and Tehran.
Speaking during a press conference on the sidelines of the NATO summit in the Netherlands, Trump stated:
“I’ll tell you something—we’re going to talk with them next week, with Iran, and maybe we’ll sign a deal. I don’t know.”
Trump emphasized that he’s not particularly interested in re-launching negotiations with Iran, reiterating that U.S. airstrikes have already dismantled Tehran’s nuclear program.
“In my view, they fought—and the war is over,” he concluded.
