Nearly 39,000 Israeli Compensation Claims Filed After Iranian Missile Strikes

Israeli Tax Authority Receives Thousands of Damage Requests for Buildings, Vehicles, and Property Following 12-Day War with Iran.

Watan-The Israeli Tax Authority’s Compensation Fund has received nearly 39,000 compensation claims for direct physical damage caused by Iranian missile strikes inside Israel, according to Hebrew media reports on Tuesday.

The newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that as of now, the fund has registered approximately 38,700 claims since the outbreak of the Israel-Iran war on June 13.

According to the fund, among the submitted claims:

  • 30,809 were for damage to buildings,

  • 3,713 for vehicle damage, and

  • 4,085 for damage to equipment and other property.

The report added that thousands more buildings were likely damaged, but have not yet been recorded in compensation requests.

Separately, the Hebrew news site B’Hadrei Haredim stated Tuesday that Tel Aviv alone filed over 24,932 claims, followed by Ashkelon in southern Israel with 10,793 claims.

As of now, no official estimate of total financial compensation has been released, given the short time since the ceasefire agreement was announced.

On June 13, Israel—backed by the United States—launched a massive offensive on Iran lasting 12 days, targeting military and nuclear sites, civilian infrastructure, and nuclear scientists and commanders. According to Iran’s Health Ministry, the strikes resulted in 606 deaths and 5,332 injuries.

In response, Iran launched ballistic missiles and drones at military and intelligence sites inside Israel. Many breached Israel’s air defense systems, causing widespread destruction and panic, along with 28 deaths and 3,238 injuries, according to Israel’s Health Ministry and local media.

The U.S. then retaliated by striking Iranian nuclear facilities, claiming it had “terminated” Iran’s nuclear program. In response, Iran struck the U.S. Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

On June 24, the United States announced a ceasefire agreement between Tel Aviv and Tehran, bringing the intense round of hostilities to a halt.
