Israel Strikes Iran’s Imam Hossein Military University in Tehran

Israeli warplanes target key Revolutionary Guard institution amid wider strikes on nuclear and missile sites in Iranian capital.

Watan-At dawn on Wednesday, Israel launched an airstrike targeting Imam Hossein Military University in eastern Tehran, the capital of Iran.

Israeli fighter jets bombed the university, with smoke columns seen rising from the area shortly after the attack. There were no immediate details available regarding casualties.

Imam Hossein University is a military and academic institution affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

The university offers academic and security programs including nuclear and electronics engineering, military and intelligence sciences, missile and air defense systems, and cyber warfare.

In a broader context, the Israeli army claimed it launched a series of airstrikes on military targets in Tehran late Tuesday into Wednesday. The targets reportedly included a centrifuge production site and various weapons factories.

According to an Israeli military statement, “More than 50 Air Force fighter jets participated in airstrikes over Tehran last night.”

The army further claimed that the strikes hit “a centrifuge production site used to accelerate and expand uranium enrichment as part of Iran’s nuclear efforts.”

It also alleged that the raids targeted multiple weapons factories, including one for raw materials and components used in ground-to-ground missiles, as well as sites involved in producing air-defense systems and components designed to intercept aircraft.
