Iranian Missiles Kill 8 in Israel as Conflict Expands to Strategic Targets and Regional Airspace
Iran’s latest missile barrage strikes Bat Yam, Rehovot, and Tel Aviv, causing deaths and injuries while targeting fuel depots and military infrastructure. Jordan closes airspace as fears of regional escalation grow.
Watan-Israeli police commander of the Ayalon District, Daniel Haddad, announced on Sunday that 6 people were killed, 180 injured, and 7 missing in the city of Bat Yam, south of Tel Aviv, after an Iranian missile strike earlier that day.
Speaking to Yedioth Ahronoth, Haddad said:”Six hours after the missile strike, the toll stands at 180 injured, 6 dead, and 7 missing. Our primary effort now is locating the missing—both those identified and unaccounted for.”
Initial reports from Israeli media had stated 3 killed and 136 injured, but the death toll has since risen.
Channel 12 estimated as many as 35 people may be missing in the Bat Yam impact zone.
Across Israel, the Iranian missile campaign since Saturday evening has resulted in 8 confirmed deaths and 208 injuries.

A statement from the IRGC said the attacks were a direct response to Israeli airstrikes and included strikes on aircraft fuel production facilities and power stations.
Israel’s military confirmed missile launches from Iran and activated air defense systems in response.
The Israeli Home Front Command instructed all citizens to remain near protected areas, while sirens sounded countrywide due to the missile onslaught.
Channel 12 reported severe damage across Israeli cities.
Khamenei Warns Israel of Misery
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei posted a message in Hebrew and Persian on X (formerly Twitter), warning Israelis:”You will suffer misery,” alongside videos showing Iranian missile strikes on Tel Aviv.
The post coincided with another wave of missile launches, some of which struck high-value targets in Tel Aviv.
Israeli media described it as a “very serious incident,” but full details remain under military censorship.

Jordan Shuts Down Airspace
Amid the intensifying regional war, Jordan closed its airspace indefinitely on Saturday night. The Civil Aviation Authority cited “precautionary measures” due to escalating risks from the ongoing Iran-Israel exchanges.
Haitham Misto, head of the authority, confirmed that all flights were rerouted and that the skies were cleared entirely.
Jordan had briefly reopened its airspace earlier Saturday morning after a temporary closure the day before.
Iran’s Diplomatic Threats and Regional Messaging
Iranian state media warned that “violent and destructive” attacks on Israel will continue, with Tehran notifying France, the UK, and the U.S. that any direct support for Israel will lead to retaliatory strikes.
Iran also identified military bases in allied countries and naval vessels in the Gulf and Red Sea as potential targets.
Meanwhile, Iranian naval forces claimed to have intercepted a British spy destroyer in the Arabian Sea, accusing it of helping Israel launch missile attacks.
Iranian drones reportedly forced the vessel to retreat before it entered the Gulf.
