Hamas Slams Al Arabiya for Promoting Israeli Narratives Amid Gaza War
The Palestinian resistance group accuses the Saudi-owned channel of spreading misinformation and aligning with the occupation’s propaganda machine.
Watan-In a move that sparked widespread Palestinian outrage, Hamas lashed out at Saudi-owned Al Arabiya channel, accusing it of “adopting the Israeli occupation’s narrative” and promoting blatant lies that serve hostile agendas against the resistance.
The crisis erupted after the channel aired a report claiming internal disputes between Hamas’ political and military wings over the handover of Israeli captive Aidan Alexander, linking the issue to the ongoing deadlock over aid delivery to Gaza.
Hamas responded with a firm official statement, describing the report as “pure fabrication and political slander,” calling on Al Arabiya to issue a public apology and to cease repeating what it described as “malicious occupation narratives,” especially during this critical period for Gaza and its resistance.
“Media Zionism Exposed”: Hamas Condemns Gulf Channels Backing Israeli Agenda
The report triggered a wave of backlash on social media, with activists claiming the channel no longer conceals its blatant bias, branding it a “Zionist platform with Arab funding.” The controversy renewed focus on the negative media role played by pro-normalization outlets—chief among them Al Arabiya, Al Hadath, and Asharq Al-Awsat—which are accused of persistently smearing Palestinian and Lebanese resistance movements.

According to media experts, these platforms are part of a calculated strategy aimed at dismantling Arab public unity and deflecting attention from the occupation’s crimes by spreading rumors and sowing internal division among resistance factions. However, such campaigns have reportedly failed to undermine the morale of the resistance or shift public support—even in normalization-friendly countries.
Hamas not only rejected the claims but also issued a clear warning about the dangers of such “media Zionization,” urging caution against channels that have become tools of the occupation, whitewashing its crimes while targeting its victims.
This latest controversy adds to a growing record of Gulf media outlets backing normalization with Israel, underscoring that the war on Gaza is not only being waged in the field but also across airwaves controlled from Abu Dhabi and Riyadh.
