UN Chief: Gaza Facing “Most Brutal Phase” as Israeli Assault Escalates
Guterres Warns of Mass Starvation and Mounting Death Toll Amid Israel’s Ongoing Blockade and Military Campaign.
Watan-UN Secretary-General António Guterres stated on Friday that Palestinians in Gaza are enduring what may be the most brutal phase of the ongoing war, as Israel intensifies its military assault.
In a public statement, Guterres said, “For nearly 80 days, Israel has blocked the entry of life-saving international aid… and the entire population of Gaza is now at risk of famine.” He emphasized that Israel’s military offensive is escalating with horrific levels of death and destruction.
He further noted that the limited aid Israel has allowed into Gaza is “far too little at a time when a massive flow of assistance is urgently needed.”
“For nearly 80 days Israel blocked the entry of life saving international aid.. the entire population of Gaza is facing the risk of famine. Families are being staved… all with the world watching..”

Speaking to journalists, Guterres warned:“Without rapid, reliable, safe, and sustained access for humanitarian aid, more people will die—and the long-term consequences for the entire population will be devastating.”
