Hamas Accuses Israel of Using Aid to Enforce Hunger and Control in Gaza
“Engineering Starvation”: Hamas Warns of Israeli Plan to Establish Detention Camps Under Humanitarian Cover.

Watan-The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) issued a warning Thursday night accusing Israel of executing a deliberate policy of “engineered starvation” in the Gaza Strip. According to Hamas, this is being done by severely limiting humanitarian aid and tying its entry to political and security conditions, ultimately aiming to reshape realities on the ground under the guise of humanitarian relief—most notably, by establishing detention camps in southern Gaza.
In an official statement, Hamas declared this strategy part of a broader plan it calls “Ghetto Aid Engineering,” designed to portray systemic deprivation as a humanitarian solution.
Hamas emphasized that the aid allowed into Gaza after 81 days of blockade is negligible, falling far short of the basic needs. The strip, the statement noted, requires 500 aid trucks daily to meet minimum humanitarian standards, yet the permitted volume is less than 10% of that. This comes amid rising displacement, a collapsed healthcare system, and severe child malnutrition.
The movement also warned of Israeli intentions to establish detention-like camps in southern areas under the pretense of aid delivery—a colonial tactic Hamas vowed would be met with Palestinian resistance.
Calling the plan a violation of human dignity and rights, Hamas urged the international community and humanitarian organizations to act urgently. It demanded a complete end to the blockade, rejection of hunger-based coercion, and the establishment of a free, permanent humanitarian corridor free of manipulation and extortion.
Meanwhile, Israeli media reported that food distribution in Gaza is expected to begin next Sunday through American companies. Distribution centers have reportedly been built, including one near the Netzarim corridor (central Gaza) and three others near Morag, close to Rafah in the south.
The United Nations has warned that Israel is using humanitarian aid as a trap to force Palestinians to evacuate from the north to the south of Gaza, raising deep concerns over the true motives of this distribution model.
