Euro-Med Rights Monitor Warns of Israeli Plan to Confine and Expel Gaza’s Population

Report Accuses Israel of Forcing Over a Million Palestinians into Southern Gaza Ahead of Mass Expulsion Under Trump’s Plan.

Watan-The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor (a Geneva-based NGO) issued a stark warning on Friday, alleging that Israel is actively working to confine Palestinians in Gaza to a narrow coastal strip in the south, with the goal of forcibly displacing them—an action that mirrors the controversial Trump administration’s past relocation plan.

According to the Monitor’s report, the Israeli military has issued at least 35 evacuation orders since the start of 2025, affecting more than one million Palestinians.

The Monitor described this ongoing displacement as “the most dangerous campaign since the start of the genocide in Gaza”, noting that it is accompanied by intensified starvation tactics and widespread destruction of remaining homes and infrastructure.

“Israel is determined to restrict the Palestinian presence in Gaza to a narrow southern coastal zone as a prelude to mass expulsion,” the report warned.

The organization called on all nations to urgently intervene through every available means to halt what it terms the genocide and to prevent this crime of forced displacement. Suggested measures include:

  • Freezing the financial assets of Israeli officials involved,

  • Imposing travel bans,

  • And enforcing economic, diplomatic, and military sanctions on Israel for its systematic and severe breaches of international law in Gaza.

It also urged countries with universal jurisdiction laws to issue arrest warrants for Israeli officials implicated in the atrocities and to initiate legal proceedings.

The report reinforces growing international concerns about the scale and intent behind Israel’s actions in Gaza, calling it not only a humanitarian catastrophe, but a deliberate ethnic cleansing campaign.
