Norwegian Hotel Refuses Israeli Tourist in Strong Stand Against Israel’s Actions in Gaza
Amid Growing Arab Normalization, a Norwegian Hotel Takes a Bold Ethical Stand by Boycotting Israel and Rejecting an Israeli Tourist.
Watan-At a time when some Arab regimes are racing towards normalization with Israel, opening hotels and airports to official and tourist delegations from the occupying state, a small Norwegian hotel has surprised the world with a significant humanitarian and ethical stance. The hotel refused to host an Israeli tourist named “Ami Hadkhes,” declaring that their establishment fully boycotts Israel.
The rejection came in a clear message to the tourist: “We apologize, we boycott Israel. We cannot host anyone from a state that commits massacres against innocent people in Gaza.”
This decision was not an individual one, but was coordinated directly with the Norwegian Labour Union (LO) and supported by the Employers’ Organization (NHO), as part of a nationwide Norwegian campaign to economically and touristically boycott Israel, condemning the genocide being perpetrated against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

Despite the expected pressure, the hotel did not back down or apologize. It described its decision as “an act of force majeure,” stemming from a humanitarian conscience that cannot coexist with crime.
The irony is that the expelled tourist in Norway finds a warm welcome in normalizing Arab capitals, where he is applauded, greeted with a red carpet, and presented as a guest of honor at conferences and economic deals. The contrast is stark: a small hotel chose dignity, while major regimes chose submission and disgrace.
This Norwegian hotel’s stance is not isolated. A Japanese hotel previously expelled an Israeli guest in solidarity with Gaza, proving that the wave of grassroots boycotts in the West is growing, even as official Arab conscience wanes.
It is a message from Europe to those who normalize relations with Israel:“Welcome is not for those who kill innocent people… even if they carry tourist passports.”
