Israel Announces Intensified Gaza Offensive Aiming at Occupation and Mass Displacement

Israeli officials confirm expansion of the Gaza war with plans to displace most residents and maintain military presence, sparking outrage over war crimes, famine, and aid restrictions.

Watan-Israel officially announced on Monday its intent to escalate the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza. According to statements from senior far-right government officials, the campaign aims to bring the devastated territory under full Israeli control and forcibly displace the majority of its population.

This announcement comes amid ongoing massacres that, according to medical sources cited by Al Jazeera, have killed more than 51 Palestinians and injured many others at the time of reporting.

Since March 2, Gaza has been subjected to a systematic starvation campaign by Israel, which has blocked all food, humanitarian, and medical aid from entering the territory.

Israel Launches Major Gaza Offensive, Plans Mass Evacuation Amid Rising Civilian Deaths

Israeli military spokesperson Avi Dvirin stated Monday, “We are moving into a more intense phase of fighting in Gaza, which will include a large-scale offensive and the evacuation of most of the population.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that the Security Cabinet had approved the expansion of the ongoing campaign during a lengthy meeting on Sunday night.

In a televised speech speech posted to his account on X (formerly Twitter), Netanyahu said, “We met late into the night in the Cabinet and decided to launch a major military operation in Gaza, based on the recommendation of the Chief of Staff, Herzi Halevi.”

He declared that Israeli forces would remain stationed in captured areas “until the war’s objectives are achieved,” and confirmed that there is a plan to evacuate Gaza residents—claiming this was for their “protection,” without further elaboration.

The situation in Gaza escalated severely on Monday following Israel’s announcement, with dozens killed in heavy bombardment that leveled civilian homes. A four-month-old infant named Youssef al-Najjar also died due to malnutrition caused by the ongoing blockade and the shortage of food and infant formula.

As the siege continues and aid remains blocked, medical sources confirmed the infant’s death from starvation. Meanwhile, Israel’s far-right government’s plan to control and restrict aid distribution in Gaza through its military outposts has drawn condemnation from both Palestinian authorities and the United Nations for violating international law and endangering civilians.

The International Humanitarian Team in the Occupied Palestinian Territories warned in a Sunday statement that Israel is attempting to dismantle the current UN-led aid distribution system.

The team cautioned that “the Israeli plan means large areas of Gaza—including the most vulnerable populations—will be left without supplies.”

Hamas, in a statement Monday, rejected the transformation of humanitarian aid into a tool of “political blackmail,” expressing full support for the UN’s opposition to any arrangements that disregard humanitarian principles. This came after major international relief organizations also refused to participate in Israel’s proposed distribution framework.
