Israel Releases 10 Gaza Detainees in Critical Health After Months of Detention
Palestinians freed from Sde Teiman prison arrive in Gaza’s Deir al-Balah in poor condition amid accusations of abuse during Israel’s ongoing war.
Watan-On Monday, Israel released 10 Palestinian detainees from northern Gaza who were reported to be in “critical” health condition after months of detention during the ongoing genocide that began on October 7, 2023.
According to a statement by Hamas’s “Prisoners Media Office,” the freed detainees had been held at Israel’s Sde Teiman prison and arrived at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, in poor health due to harsh treatment by prison authorities.
The prisoners were released via the Kissufim crossing east of Deir al-Balah and transported by Red Cross vehicles directly to the hospital for full medical examinations.
Previously, Israel had released hundreds of prisoners arrested from Gaza as part of the first phase of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that began on January 19
