Israeli Sources Reveal "Hell" Plan for Gaza, EU Warns of Humanitarian Consequences
Watan-Mahmoud Mardawi, a leader in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), said on Sunday that the movement will not agree to extend the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, as requested by Israel.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, Mardawi added that Hamas will not release the remaining Israeli detainees except under the terms of the already agreed-upon interim agreement.
Earlier today, Israeli sources reported that Tel Aviv intends to begin implementing an escalation plan against Gaza within a week. This plan includes cutting off electricity, displacing Palestinians from northern Gaza to the south, and resuming combat operations.
According to Israel’s public broadcaster, citing unnamed informed sources, Israel will implement a plan called “Hell” against Gaza within a week.
The sources clarified that the plan involves a complete power cutoff in Gaza, the forced displacement of residents from the north to the south, and the resumption of full-scale military operations.
Meanwhile, the European Union condemned what it described as Hamas’ refusal to accept an extension of the first phase of the ceasefire in Gaza, warning that Israel’s prevention of aid entry into the Strip “poses humanitarian consequences.”
European Commission spokesperson for foreign affairs, Anwar Al-Aouni, said in a statement: “The European Union calls for the swift resumption of negotiations on the second phase of the ceasefire,” adding that the bloc “expresses its strong support for the mediators.”
