Former Yemeni Minister Warns of Joint UAE-Israeli Project Threatening Yemen’s Sovereignty

Saleh Al-Jabwani calls for national unity to counter external influences undermining Yemen's future

Watan-A former Yemeni minister has spoken about the dangers of a joint Emirati-Israeli project targeting Yemen’s present and future, calling for Yemeni national unity to thwart the conspiracies of Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv against the country.

Saleh Al-Jabwani, former Yemeni Minister of Transport and leader in the “Shabwa” National Council, stated that the UAE’s project in the region is essentially an Israeli project, expressing his disappointment that Yemen, a country of conquests and great history, has become captive to this project.

Al-Jabwani noted that the Emirati project in the region, which is fundamentally Israeli, is significantly retreating on the ground, referring to regional developments.

He explained that the Sudanese army is on the verge of defeating the militias of Hemedti (Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo), and Haftar (Khalifa Haftar in Libya) has stalled in Benghazi; without occasional Russian support, he would have ended early.

He added that this is similar to the deposed Syrian leader who, in his final years, sought refuge with Bin Zayed, hoping it would save his regime from collapse, which ultimately led to his downfall after the Russians withdrew their support.

Even in the besieged and devastated Gaza, the UAE’s project, through the suspicious support provided by Bin Zayed to serve Israel, did not bear fruit. The resistance triumphed through its steadfastness, forcing Israel to sign a ceasefire and prisoner exchange as equals.

The former Yemeni Minister of Transport stated that the UAE’s project has only succeeded and advanced in Yemen, after exploiting a regional group and recruiting its members into an army that not only controlled most of the southern provinces but also dominated the leadership of legitimacy itself, due to the corruption, cowardice, and greed of the Yemeni elite.

Regrettably, he continued, Yemen, with its conquests, great history, and glorious revolutions, has become captive, with its fate controlled by the slaves of the Emirati-Israeli project.

He added, “It’s sad and painful, as if Yemen’s men have vanished, leaving only the subservient.”

The former Yemeni official explained that in meetings with a large number of Yemeni political leaders, and even foreign ambassadors, the latest being the American ambassador in Amman a few months ago, the following question is always posed: What is the solution?

Answering the question, he said that neither the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, Saudi Arabia, nor even America itself can solve the existing problem without restoring balance in the southern arena. Without this balance, the regional group affiliated with the UAE will not only control the fate of the south but the entire Yemen, which is currently being fragmented in preparation for its division.

He concluded by saying, “Today we complain about the loss of the state; tomorrow, if we do not act, we will lose Yemen itself.”
