Israeli Forces Demolish Homes in West Bank, Injure Elderly Woman and Two Others

Military raids in Ramallah and Nablus spark violence as Israel escalates home demolitions and assaults across the occupied West Bank amid its ongoing war in Gaza.

Watan-Israeli occupation forces blew up a home in Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank and demolished another in Ramallah (central West Bank), injuring three Palestinians, including an elderly woman who was beaten by soldiers.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported in a statement that its teams treated three injuries in the village of Al-Mughayyir, east of Ramallah. Two of the injuries were from rubber-coated metal bullets, while the third was a 75-year-old woman who was physically assaulted by Israeli troops.

Clashes broke out between local residents and the occupation forces during the demolition of a Palestinian home in Al-Mughayyir. The house belonged to Anwar Sameeh Al-Nassan, who stated that an Israeli military unit stormed the village at dawn, ordered his family to evacuate, and began the demolition under the pretext of “unauthorized construction.” He insisted the home was built on his private land with official ownership documents.

Israeli bulldozers also destroyed a garden in the same village during the raid.

Meanwhile, in Nablus, a large Israeli military force stormed several neighborhoods, including Al-Salam district, where they surrounded residential buildings, forced residents to evacuate, and detonated the home of Jaafar Muna, a Palestinian who carried out an attack in Tel Aviv in August 2024. Muna was killed on August 18, 2024, following that operation.

The Israeli military regularly demolishes the homes of Palestinians involved in resistance operations as a form of collective punishment.

According to rights groups, Israeli authorities carried out 73 demolition operations in April alone, targeting 152 structures, including 96 inhabited homes, 10 uninhabited, and 34 agricultural or other facilities. The most affected areas were Tubas (59 structures), Hebron (39), and Jerusalem (17).

In parallel with its ongoing genocide in Gaza, the Israeli military and settlers have intensified attacks across the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. According to Palestinian statistics, this campaign has led to the killing of at least 972 Palestinians, the injury of nearly 7,000, and the arrest of more than 17,000.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with full U.S. backing, has waged a genocidal war on Gaza, killing or wounding over 177,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, with more than 11,000 missing and hundreds of thousands displaced.
