Hamas Leader Accuses Israel of Obstructing Peace Talks
Watan-A senior source in Hamas movement confirmed on Saturday evening that the Israeli occupation is obstructing reaching an agreement by insisting on continuing the war.
The leader added in statements conveyed by Qatar’s Al Jazeera channel that “the Zionist entity seeks a framework agreement to retrieve its prisoners without linking it to ending the aggression.”
No agreement that does not explicitly include stopping the war on Gaza
The source emphasized that Hamas “will not agree under any circumstances to an agreement that does not explicitly include stopping the war on Gaza.”
The source held “the enemy fully responsible for insisting on entering Rafah instead of stopping the aggression and withdrawing completely.”
The same Hamas source said, “Our information confirms that Netanyahu personally obstructs reaching an agreement for personal calculations.”
He pointed out that “the resistance is entrusted with the sacrifices of our people and will not compromise on them under any circumstances.”
For his part, Hamas Political Bureau member Ezat al-Rishq said: “They threaten us with invading Rafah, and we promise them failure and defeat.”
This comes amid anticipation for the response expected to be delivered by the Hamas delegation, which arrived in the Egyptian capital on Saturday, to the mediators, coinciding with the presence of CIA Director William Burns in Cairo.
