UK Urges British Citizens in Israel to Register Amid Escalating Iran-Israel Conflict

London launches ‘Check-In’ portal for nationals in Israel as missile exchanges intensify; citizens advised to stay near shelters and prepare for possible evacuation.

Watan-Britain on Monday advised its citizens in Israel to register with the UK government, stating that the goal is to build a clear picture of who is in the region in case they require assistance or evacuation.

The advisory comes as Israel launched airstrikes on Iran last Friday, claiming that Tehran was on the verge of developing a nuclear weapon. In response, Iran—asserting its program is peaceful—fired missiles at key Israeli cities.

Speaking from the G7 Summit in Canada, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer told reporters:“For British citizens in Israel, we’re issuing guidance today encouraging them to register their presence.”

A spokesperson for Starmer elaborated at a separate press briefing in London, saying that officials want to collect accurate data about British nationals in the region.

He added:“Our main message to UK nationals in Israel is to follow local authorities’ advice to remain close to shelters. We are also launching a ‘Check-In’ portal for British citizens in Israel to help build a clearer picture of who may need help.”

The spokesperson further urged:“We encourage all UK nationals there to register on this portal as soon as it becomes available.”

He also confirmed that the UK is boosting logistical support for citizens leaving Israel by land via Jordan and Egypt, with British Foreign Office personnel already stationed at the Jordanian border to assist those seeking exit routes.
