Crisis in Israeli Military: Surge of Resignations Amidst Gaza War

Watan-Amidst the raging war on the Gaza Strip since October 7th, a wave of resignations and retirement requests has struck the Israeli occupation army.

Channel 14 Hebrew revealed that “Military Spokesperson Daniel Higari and several senior officials in the army’s information unit have submitted their resignations.”

The Hebrew channel mentioned that a large number of senior officials in the Israeli occupation army’s information unit, led by military spokesperson Daniel Higari, have submitted requests to retire from the army.

Among the officials leaving the Israeli occupation army is also “Colonel Shlomit Miller Botbul, who is in the process of retiring.”

The list also included the head of the communications department in the army’s spokesperson unit, Moran Katz, who is also said to be leaving her position because things did not go well on both a professional and personal level.

The Israeli channel pointed out that “Israeli army spokesperson for foreign media affairs, veteran Lieutenant Colonel Richard Hishet, and Major Mariv Gernot Stoller are also leaving the information unit.”

According to the Hebrew channel, the collective resignations are a result of officers protesting the conduct of operational and personal matters, reflecting a state of “turmoil” in the information unit led by Higari.

Serious audio recording

It is noteworthy that this significant development came shortly after the Israeli broadcasting authority aired an audio recording of two Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip, moments before they were mistakenly killed by Israeli occupation soldiers after being detained for 65 days.

The recording showed the voices of the prisoners (Alon, Yotam) pleading with the army from inside a house and asking them not to shoot.

The prisoners screamed as Israeli soldiers fired: “Under the stairs, save us, don’t shoot, there’s no one here, we’re Israeli prisoners, save us.”

Cameras attached to an Israeli occupation army dog recorded the screams of the prisoners Alon and Yotam, pleading with the soldiers to release them.

According to the broadcasting authority, this recording was discovered three days after the shooting that took their lives.
