Macron Calls for Unconditional Ceasefire in Gaza in Address to UK Parliament

French President Urges Immediate End to War and Reaffirms Support for Two-State Solution.

Watan-French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday called for an “unconditional ceasefire in Gaza”, delivering his remarks in English during a speech before the British Parliament in London.

At the start of a three-day state visit, Macron said:“Calling today for an unconditional ceasefire in Gaza is simply a message to the world that we, as Europeans, do not apply double standards… We want a ceasefire without debate.”

He stressed that a two-state solution and recognition of the State of Palestine are also “the only path to building peace.”
