Israeli media spoke of ‘friendly fire’
Israeli media previously revealed that the initial investigation conducted by the occupying army into the explosion in the Bureij camp, which resulted in the death of six combat engineers, indicated that a shell was accidentally fired from an Israeli tank.
Reports stated that the Israeli engineers killed in the incident were preparing the tunnel for demolition, placing explosives in underground passages.
Half an hour before the scheduled time for the explosion, a tank stationed near the blast site fired a shell at a nearby building after detecting suspicious movement.
According to the investigation, the detonation wire was activated in some way due to the tank’s shelling, leading to a premature and massive explosion of the tunnel system while combat engineers were still preparing it for demolition.
The Al-Qassam Brigades inflict losses on the occupation forces on various fronts
Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas,” inflicted losses on the Israeli occupation forces in various combat areas in the Gaza Strip. The Brigades reported killing soldiers and destroying Israeli military vehicles in several fighting fronts in Gaza.
The Qassam Brigades announced in a series of statements that they were able to snipe four Zionist soldiers with Qassam sniper rifles east of the Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip.
They added that their fighters targeted a Zionist infantry force with machine guns, causing casualties near the railway street south of the Zaitun neighborhood in Gaza City. They also targeted a Hummer vehicle that arrived to rescue the force with a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG), achieving direct hits.
In the same area, the fighters detonated two tunnels as Israeli forces approached, resulting in casualties among the enemy soldiers.
In the southern city of Khan Yunis, Qassam fighters destroyed a Merkava tank with a Yasin 105 missile, causing it to catch fire. They also launched mortar shells at Israeli soldiers and vehicles advancing into the area.
Qassam Brigades reported that their fighters targeted an Israeli infantry force with an anti-personnel explosive device, causing casualties between killed and wounded in the Bani Suheila area east of Khan Yunis.
