Iron Dome Falters: Al-Qassam Barrage Overwhelms Ashkelon

Watan – In a dramatic turn of events, rockets heavily bombarded Ashkelon, a city under Israeli control. Videos circulating on social media vividly captured the intensity of the “Al-Aqsa Deluge” operation. As the situation unfolded, by the fourth day of the operation, the resistance achieved notable advancements.

In a swift response, the Al-Qassam Brigades fired hundreds of rockets at Ashkelon. This bold retaliatory move sent a clear message: “Displacement begets displacement.”

Interestingly, the timing of this barrage was impeccable. It perfectly aligned with the end of Al-Qassam’s deadline for evacuating Ashkelon. Along with the rocket fire, the Brigades issued a stern warning: if the displacement persisted, they would continue targeting Ashkelon, and possibly, other cities might be next.

Subsequent footage painted a concerning picture. It revealed a gap in the Iron Dome’s defenses when a rocket struck an Ashkelon building directly. Faced with the overwhelming number of rockets from Hamas, the Iron Dome’s capabilities seemed to falter, marking a rare moment of its failure. Observers on the ground recognized the unprecedented nature of this attack on Ashkelon.

Moreover, Israeli media outlets didn’t delay in reporting the casualties from the rocket attacks.

This intense bombardment, with Ashkelon at its epicenter, was not random. It came as a direct response to the prohibited weapons used in Gaza and marked the culmination of the Brigades’ evacuation ultimatum.
